Dear
Supporters,
Thank you to
everyone who
came out to
our many
events this
month, as your
support is
essential to
our ability
to raise
awareness
and
successfully
aid
survivors.
The
team continues to work tirelessly
increasing
our capacity
to ensure we
provide
sustainable
programs to
enable
survivors to
thrive.
This past
Friday
marked the
10th
anniversary
of the
Trafficking
Victims
Protection
Act (TVPA).
The TVPA was
a historic
milestone,
as the first
piece of
legislation
passed in
the United
States
addressing
the issue of
human
trafficking.
In this
decade, abolitionists,
legislators,
law
enforcement,
NGO's, and
concerned
citizens
across the
globe have
worked diligently
to combat
modern
slavery and
restore the
lives of
those who
are
victimized
by this
monstrous
crime
against
humanity.
However the
road to
freedom is
long, as
some 27
million men,
women, and
children are
are bound by
the
invisible
chains of
slavery.
We
need your
help to
spread
awareness,
advocate,
and enable
organizations
such as BTFF
to continue
to provide
much needed
resources
and services
to empower
survivors.
I hope you
will
continue to
look for
ways to join
BTFF as we
build the
bridge to
freedom
brick by
brick.
Sincerely,
Cassandra Clifford

Director

Recent Outreach and Speaking Events
BTFF's Founder and Executive Director Cassandra
Clifford
has been busy this month reaching out to the community to raise
awareness about modern slavery and BTFF. Cassandra recently served as a guest lecturer on modern slavery for two communications classes at George Mason University and is looking to go back shortly to lecture for additional classes.
The National Human Rights Examiner ran an article on BTFF 's involvement with Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause. The article also featured an interview with Cassandra on the history and development of BTFF. For more information: Full Article.
In addition, Cassandra appeared on Blog Talk Radio's A Measure of Truth with host Michael Fordham, speaking about corporate support, sustainable responses, and easy ways to support BTFF and the cause. BTFF is delighted that the show continues to extend their support to combat modern slavery and BTFF. For more information: Listen to the podcast!
BTFF is always looking to educate others about the problem of modern day slavery and share our amazing mission to help survivors through the process of recovery and rehabilitation to move them from surviving to thriving.
