Dear Supporters,
It
was just a year ago that I wrote
the first Bridge to Freedom
Foundation (BTFF) year in review
letter and here we are again,
another year has quickly passed
and what a year it has been.
Last January we were amazed at
our progress to go from an idea
to an actual organization and
begin to achieve so much as we
began building BTFF, spending
most of the year laying the
foundation for our work. We are
still laying that foundation,
but it has grown larger and
stronger this past year and we
are increasing our capacity to
help human trafficking survivors
thrive!
I am continually amazed at what
BTFF has managed to accomplish
in such a short period of time,
as we currently remain 100%
volunteer led and thus often
have a limited as capacity.
However our success will be
worth every struggle we faced
and each hurdle we overcame. I
get excited each day when I
think about the possibilities
and the impact we are going to
make, and the lives we are going
to affect! Nonetheless our
growth is undeniable, this
summer we were privileged to
have an amazing nine Interns and
Fellows and their passion for
BTFF continues today as many
continue to do as much as they
can to promote BTFF. Luckily our
office moved, as did I, so that
BTFF could expand beyond the
tiny walls of my former studio
apartment where we started. We
are now blessed to have an
actual office in my new home and
to see if full of interns this
year has meant more than I can
even express.
The long journey for BTFF is
still new and each day continues
to be a milestone as we achieve
many more extraordinary firsts.
One of our biggest
accomplishments in 2010 was
receiving our 501c3
determination letter from the
IRS...a huge feat, as now we are
able to seek funding via grants
and corporate donors. Therefore
we were thrilled to build our
first corporate partnerships and
sponsors; Acumen Solutions,
Accelera Solutions, Webb Masson,
and Body Marinade. The launch
our new website, brochure and
the BTFF newsletter were also
exciting for us as we solidified
our image and began to see our
shift from a grassroots
organization. This year also saw
the inspiring launch of the
"Little Bird" products and we
are ending the year in style as
we just launched the BTFF
signature scents by Body
Marinade. However it is also the
support of the anti-trafficking
community and our growing
partnership with other
organizations which key to our
ability to provide sustainable
services.
Over the past year we have been
so blessed to expand our
supporter network and the words
of encouragement and support
never fail to inspire us, thus
we want to thank you as it is
essential, so that we can
provide these key services to
survivors to enable them to lead
the lives they choose. We look
forward to the New Year as we
begin to take on more client
work and workshops that will
empower more survivors to
thrive.
Wishing you a happy, healthy,
and prosperous 2011!!
Sincerely,
Cassandra
Clifford

The House passed
